Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer, a commune in the Var region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, is located on the peninsula of the same name, connected to the mainland by the Isthmus of Sablettes. About fifteen kilometers south of Toulon, it helps define the harbor. Originally composed of islets, it became a single island in the Middle Ages, the island of Sépet, before being annexed to the mainland in the 17th century. Once focused on agriculture, it has since been converted into a tourist destination, with a marina and a preserved coastline where beaches and pine forests are popular. The town boasts notable cultural dynamism, making it a justly famous holiday destination.
